Privacy Policy

How SongLore handles your information.

SongLore is operated by Skyler Martin. This Privacy Policy explains what information SongLore collects, how it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to users in the United States.

Last updated March 10, 2026 Applies to SongLore for iPhone

1. Information SongLore collects

SongLore collects only the information needed to operate the app and user community.

  • Account information from Sign in with Apple, including the email address Apple provides and your chosen username.
  • User content you create in the app, such as song interpretations, reports, and related account activity.
  • Basic account records needed to operate your profile, likes, follows, and account deletion requests.
  • Limited technical or service information processed by SongLore's infrastructure providers, such as Firebase, to keep the app available, secure, and functioning.

SongLore does not ask users to upload profile photos, and it does not intentionally collect unnecessary device information for its own use.

2. How SongLore uses your information

SongLore uses collected information to provide and improve the service, including to:

  • Create and maintain your account and public profile.
  • Display your interpretations, likes, follows, and other community activity inside the app.
  • Process reports, investigate misuse, and protect the safety and integrity of the community.
  • Operate AI-powered interpretation features and determine whether a request should be handled locally on-device or through a supported backend provider.
  • Maintain app performance, reliability, and security.

3. AI processing

SongLore uses a mix of on-device and server-supported AI processing. When available and appropriate for the song's context, interpretation processing may happen locally on your device. In other situations, SongLore may send relevant request data to backend AI providers, currently Gemini and Groq, to generate or support an interpretation.

SongLore uses this hybrid approach to provide consistent results while remaining resourceful with available iPhone capabilities.

4. Third-party services and links

SongLore relies on certain third-party services to operate.

  • Firebase is used for database and application infrastructure functions.
  • Gemini and Groq may be used when local AI processing is not appropriate or available for a request.
  • Apple Music and Spotify are linked from SongLore for playback handoff. When you open those services, their own terms and privacy policies apply.
  • Sign in with Apple is used for authentication.

5. When information may be shared

SongLore does not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only in limited situations, such as:

  • With service providers that help operate the app, such as Firebase, Gemini, and Groq.
  • When needed to investigate reports, enforce the Additional Terms, or protect users, SongLore, or others.
  • When required by law, legal process, or valid government request.

6. Public content

SongLore is a community-driven product. Your username, public profile activity, and the interpretations you post may be visible to other users inside the app. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in interpretations or profile details.

7. Data retention and deletion

SongLore keeps account information and user content for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Users can delete their account from inside the app. When an account is deleted, SongLore will take reasonable steps to remove or de-identify associated personal information, subject to operational backups, security needs, and legal requirements.

8. Children's privacy

SongLore is not directed to children under 13. Because the app may contain interpretations or analyze song data involving mature themes, it is intended for a general audience capable of understanding that some content may not be appropriate for younger users. If SongLore learns that personal information from a child under 13 was collected without appropriate authorization, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.

9. U.S. availability

SongLore is currently intended for users in the United States. If you access the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

SongLore may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, the updated policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
